It is widely known that heart failure is one of the most common and leading cause of deaths worldwide. It happens when your heart doesn't perform properly leading it to pump less blood around your body. Heart failure doesn't mean that your heart has shutdown completely, it means that the heart is not pumping at an effective rate. The heart is capable of recovering from heart failure, but it will become weak to the point in which it is not able to recover any more. Heart failure does not usually end the life of the victim suddenly. With this in mind, heart patients can take action to improve their heart condition. To do this, it is very important to understand the symptoms of heart failure.

What Are The Symptoms Of Heart Failure?

The symptoms you experience as a heart patient may be different from the one experienced by a relative or a friend. You may have only minor chest pains, for example, while your relative or friend experiences violent pains.

The event of a heart attack is a terrifying experience. However, if you know the symptoms and know what to do, you can save a life; this life may be that of a friend, neighbor, colleague or even your own life.

Most heart attacks begin slowly as a gentle pain or discomfort in the center of your chest that may lasts for only a few minutes. It may also go away for a while then come back. There are times when you are not sure about the symptoms because a follow-up attack may have a totally different symptom.

Here are some typical symptoms of a heart failure:

1) Shortness of Breath: Shortness of breath oftentimes precedes chest pain. You may find yourself panting for breath.

2) Chest Pain: This is the feeling of pressure at the center of your chest. This pain may last for a few minutes or may come and go.

3) Dizziness: This dizziness feels like you are about to faint.

4) Stomach pain: This pain may find its way down to the abdominal area and you may buy dimethylaminoethanol like you're having heartburns.

5) Pain at the upper part of your body: this includes pain at your neck, shoulders, back, or arms.
You may have upper body pain but no pain in your chest.

6) Nausea and Vomiting: There may be an unpleasant feeling in the stomach that may result in vomiting

7) Sweating: This is actually a cold sweat where you simultaneously perspire and feel a cold chill.

Cause and Prevention

High cholesterol is known to be a common cause of heart failure. Cholesterol, however, is a substance the body uses to protect nerves, make tissues and produce certain hormones. But when it exceeds the normal limits (150-200mg/100ml blood), it poses serious threat to arteries and heart. The main cause of high blood cholesterol is eating too much fat, especially saturated fat. The good news is that it can be successfully regulated and treated by dietary changes.

Add the following foods to your diet to control your cholesterol level:

1) Fiber: Foods in this category include oats, whole grains, fruits and raw vegetable.

2) Sunflower Seeds: Sunflower seeds contain linoleic acid which is an essential fatty acid in our diet. It is known to reduce plaque formation on arterial walls by cholesterol.

3) Garlic: Take as much garlic in your diet as possible. It will surely reduce cholesterol level without causing any side effects. It is more effective when taken raw.

4) Antioxidants: Any food containing antioxidants are very useful in treating high levels of cholesterol. Examples of high antioxidant foods include papaya, beetroots, melon seeds, tomatoes, carrots, and raw vegetables.

5) Vegetable Oils: Use vegetables oils such as olive oil, sunflower seed oil and corn oil. There are surely other vegetable oils that will also do a great job in controlling cholesterol levels.

Conclusion

Heart disease is treatable but you may have a harder time treating the problem if you don't notice it quickly enough. If find yourself having symptoms of heart failure, you need to make some lifestyle adjustments. You should watch what you eat a lot more carefully, and find out the reason why your heart failed so as to prevent it from happening again. Symptoms might not be very serious at the beginning of a heart failure but as you get older it becomes more difficult to control.

My recommendation is that you include as much exercises and workouts as possible but do not exceed your physical limitation; listen to your body. Physical activity increases the body's flexibility including that of the arteries. Finally, I would advise that even if you're not sure you're having a heart attack, you should still go and see a doctor. Acting fast can save your life or someone else's.
